Scrapheap Challenge/Junkyard wars

SO, ya... be nice. We don't all have to agree about what the world should be like. I personally think the world should be an awesome place. :-)
....and no offense to anyone, but please keep the bible thumping out of it. I'm just not up to explaining how incredibly stastitically improbably it is that the earth is 6000-ish years old.

I tesla coil will work for producing ozone to purify water, but if you don't use pure oxygen, there is side effect that I can't recall. I want to say it is nitric acid thzt tends to clog up the works. I worked on ozone generators, but it was years ago. I just recall there being a good reason not to try to use air.

Thanks. It all looked kinda dodgy to me. Water purification is too important to use dodgy methods, those are only justified in post-apocalyptic scenarios like in The Colony

What they were doing would definitely work for the short term, but eventually the thing would errode. Also, ozone cannot be used to purify salt water. The water will turn out poisonous. I didn't understand the why, but it had something to do with the chemical reactions.

I wish you could use electrolysis to get oxygen out of the water and then use it to produce ozone, but it isn't economical. It takes too much electricity.

A still and a filter system are probably the best way to purify water without using some kind of oxidizer.

I'm keeping you on the bench until we get to Robot Wars man. Craig Charles would cack himself if he saw us coming =P I can just imagine it now, a huge APC style robot rolls in. "ACTIVATE" Seconds later the doors open and thousands of Ant-Weights swarm out and carry the enemies and the house bots to the pit. Yeah, sod wasting your talents on Scrapheap man, let Jeri and Mustafa do all the hard work! =P
