UK chapter

Ya, dude. Adventure is awesome. ....Building is awesome. What else do you need? Oh... a club? Well, there ya go.

UK chapter

Postby Team Orr » Thu Jun 02, 2011 1:12 am

well i know its weird to apply this to 4 countries...but we are small compared to the US so im guessing there's less JME heads here and that its okay to make the UK one chapter. unless people want to split into individual countries? or even towns... but i think that's a bit excessive.
so uhh...yeah, im doing my part i guess, building several earth improving Robots alongside my Fighting robots (as in robots that make the planet better) and also building several outdoor buildings, i made a small hut/chill zone out of wood and recycled materials overlooking the ocean at the end of the garden on our island place, bought some land in the shape of small field too so i can build lots of stuff...mini banana building anybody? lol. And got my mums allotment cleaned up so we now have lots of tasty fresh fruit and veg...nomnomnomnom. And got a nice official black ABC shirt (im wearing it right now)
OH! and im building my own GRP, based around a hexabot design and Theo Janson style linkages, not as big as Jaimie's but can still carry 2 people around comfortably. welding box section and stuff now...at two in the morning!

People like to call me the British JMEmantzel on my youtube...now i see why :-) its a shame we couldn't meet up when you were over this way Jaimie, coming over again soon? lol

Hey Jack,

Do you have pics of this fabled recycled hut overlooking the ocean? Seems interesting. What kind of robots are you working on other than the fighting robots..and the giant robot? Haha..these intrigue me.

Also, a lot of American's don't even know that the UK, Great Britain, and England aren't the same thing. Here's a quick vid to clarify if any future viewer wants to know the difference.

You seem to have a lot of knowledge on robots, and completing things, so welcome! It's great to be able to interact.

There is a ton of info in that video. I didn't know the distinction between Great Britain and the United Kingdom. Thanks.

Wow, I REALLY didn't know that. I just call everything over there the UK so I guess I'm safe right?

Hey Jack! Ya, I should be over there again. I'm not sure when. We did get a lot of stuff done when I was over, and it'll be useful to go again.

Thats pretty sweet that you have tasty nom noms from the garden now. :-) Oh, that reminds me. I have a bunch of tomato plants to put in the garden. ....and its so nice and sunny out!

A UK ABC chapter sounds awesome, count me in! =P I may not be building robots but I hope my dome designs and the super-bus project count towards my ABC membership =P I would get a shirt but I have no C-card or paypal account, if it ever comes about where you can buy one using your phone I'll be the first.
Jack, the inspiration zone is tooooo goood man! Its awesome to hear you cleared out that allotment too, growing your own food is awesome. We did strawberries and tomatoes this year, Strawberries are coming out huge and the tomatoes are slowly getting bigger, no allotment here though, just a greenhouse at the bottom of the garden. We're thinking about digging up one of the flower patches to make more room for other bits but that won't be until next year now.
Anyway I've started rambling, let me know what being part of the UK chapter will involve, it'd be awesome if we could have like meet-ups and that kind of thing to compare and talk about our designs and the YT vids in better detail, just a suggestion.

Oh and one last thing, I've got a car and a driving licence, if you ever need to get about the UK while Jamie's here I'll be more than happy to help.
Stay safe dude,
Peace!

Heh, been a while
So this website called King Of The Web has started this online "election" thing, if you win you get to go to VidCon 2012 which is this big YouTube gathering in America. I decided to throw my hat into the ring because it could be a opportunity to plug the robots a bit more (similar to StickAid). Apparently you can log in via a KOTW account (takes like 3 minutes to make) or FaceBook and vote 10 times per day. Im currently 15th but was at 8th a few hours ago (Time differences and the such). If you want to vote for me you can here: http://kingofweb.com/users/8140951611 but like i said, vote 10 times each day, for like 14 days.
Could be a good opportunity. See how it goes (No stress).
Jack

EDIT: dont know if i posted this here before, but heres me doing this live show about robots and stuff
