So, as Jamie has shown a lot in his videos, exercise is important, and can be fun! But it’s also fun to exercise your mind. So what do you do to flex your mental muscle and think of new and interesting ideas?
TED Talks
http://www.ted.com has a bunch of “ideas worth spreading”. An acronym for Technology, Entertainment and Design, these are a bunch of fun and interesting lectures given every year and most are made publicly available online. You get everything from magicians, to psychiatrists, to piano prodigies, to human calculators, to military leaders and school teachers. It’s like a Smithsonian of cool ideas and interesting topics. If you have never seen one, go watch one now.
Futility Closet
http://www.futilitycloset.com is “An idler's miscellany of compendious amusements”. It’s a very streamlined and simple blog with a few nuggets of interesting facts every day. They run the gambit from chess problems to Mark Twain quotes.
Wikipedia Random Article
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Randompage Self explanatory. Everyone knows what Wikipedia is. I like looking at least one new article a day. It’s hit or miss, but you can always reload and get a new one!
Lifehacker
http://lifehacker.com/ Like the name implies, hacks your life. It offers a huge collection of tips to tweak your daily routine. From eating better to protecting your identity to making your salt not clump.
Those are a few things I like to browse for inspiration. What are some other things you look at? It doesn’t need to be a website. A book, a movie, a TV Show, a magazine. Whatever sparks your interest.
