i would put it in - how u make world better place, but well it is kind of project also o.O so i will not spam there but here ;p

So I rlly love to make a shiny presents for my friends,
u am using all kind of SMD LED parts that i found in damaged mobile phones,mp4 etc..

usually voltage needed is about 3V
I tested two SMD on two 1.2V 1000mAh units.. and it goes one month and still shining but weaker, but still lighting.. well propably batteries will keep it runing much more longer couse nimh akk are de-charging itself one month(old ones) so anyway one or two SMD LED is sucking almost nothing V but need some higher than 2.2V to start shining.

It is nice to take apart some little engine so u can get some mini wires that combined with SMD LED can be putted enywhere. That is giving for me a enormous number of diffrent and oryginal mounting look alikes, i mean body of LightPresent. An example:

Nuclear Powered Present[/url]
If someone will have trouble with welding it up i can give a hint next time on some video -how to weld it proper and safe,
Cheers. :D

ps.
I made a laser beam look like by using just one SMD LED - and LensThing that i tooked out from LCD-monitor ->and wraped it around led - inside a little jar made of glass! :)

Thnx ^ ^ i love it XD
oh on that metal box (2) I even changed light to smd led - blue, so power consumption is now totally better, and light is spreaded nice, not spot-light type like on picture. If anyone need any halp tell me ^ ^ (its so awsome xD i wonder what neightbours are thinking while passing by this prop XD

A few years ago I discovered that you could put 5 LED's in series and power them from a 9v battery - no current limiting resistor needed, because the voltage is just below the usual forward voltage of the LED string. A 20-pack of assorted LED's from Radio Shack, and a 5-pack of 9v battery snaps from Radio Shack. Mix and match, make something fun that sticks on top of the battery.

For nearly dead 9v batteries, only 4 LED's in series. Still lasts a pretty long time.
