If I remember correctly, they also have kinda completed stuff. Like motor drivers and bluetooth modules. (Of course motor drivers are pretty easy to build.) And buying one when you can build (or salvage) one disagree's with the Jaimie Mentality!

They mainly specialize in RC aircraft and ive made a few orders with them to new zealand. The brushless electric speed controllers (ESCs) control the speed for brushless motors which are better than regular electric motors in many ways, but the ESCs arnt easy to make. They do have some good electronics though! One day im going to make a cheap first person video set up using a few things from there for my planes.

If you want a great cheap RC controller go for the turnigy 9x on the website.http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor ... ware_.html

I have one for my planes and it works great! I get 8 channels and the receivers are cheap but im not using the stock transmitter module which isnt very high quality (not good for nice models). I have an FrSky transmitter module which sits in the back and transmits 2.4GHz which wont get any interference from other people on 2.4GHz. It is a pretty good brand and the receivers are cheap and I know the main supplier (only supplier maybe) in new zealand which is good! f you get the turnigy 9x to use a better module you need to cut the wire to the stock antenna to get the stock module out, but they may have changed that. Other modules have antennas on the modules. Also it says 9 channel but that is for using lower frequencies which can interfere with each other and most up to date people are moving on from that.

When buying things like this mode 1 means the throttle stick (ratchet so stick doesnt return to center on 1 axis) is on the right and mode 2 means its on the left stick. People in my town flying their planes on mode 1 so thats what I have and im used to but i think mode 2 is better and most people use that.

At hobbyking you can also get cheap servos which work alright most of the time. Which this set up its VERY easy to make awesome robots!! All together my transmitter set up with an 8 channel receiver costs $250 new zealand dollars which will be cheaper right now. That is pretty cheap for a set up like that and worth it unless you are doing something that is very important and critical like flying a big balsa wood model airplane or something. Then you should get something better. But these can be used for anything!
