Hello my name is Scott, for several years now Ive been planing to build a geodesic dome house here in Colorado. ill be making a youtube series about it and thought the good people around here might be interested.

Great job on the first video, Scott! I hope everything comes together for you and you can start building as planned. The wood construction with custom brackets is very interesting.

I'll keep an eye out for your updates and videos.

Today i was able to get some more bracket material, around 40 brackets worth. Along with a whole pile of insulation and some plywood. There should be some good progress this weekend and with any luck a video with better audio.

Very cool project. I just wonder how those joins will hold up under compression.

Ummm, a few questions.

Well first, great project.

Second, for a 3V dome, all of the angles are NOT the same. They are similar, but not the same.

Third, what exact angle is that? According to desertdomes.com, a 3V dome should have angles of 10 and 12 degrees.

3v dome: bend A's 10º, B's and C's 12º on each end


It looks like more than 10ish degrees to me. I don't doubt you've done your research, I just don't want you to get too far and realize you've made a mistake.
